Risk Management PPT
The dictionary defines risk as “The possibility of incurring misfortune or loss”. However, there are other definitions such as “Risk management is a method of managing that concentrates on identifying and controlling the areas or events that have a potential of causing unwanted change or undesired outcomes”
Exposure to these “misfortunes”, occasions of “loss”, “unwanted change” or “undesired outcomes” generally comes from particular events or what are more commonly called hazards. Some of these hazards are fully known or well appreciated and this may have considerable care or mitigation efforts applied to them. Motorways are well fenced and have no footpaths to ensure that pedestrians do not easily “stray” into the path of speeding cars for example. Similarly, people know that it is not a good idea to take the risk of jumping into the lion enclosure at the zoo. But these more obvious hazards are rarely the major risk problem. It is often the less obvious or even completely hidden hazards that can pose the greatest difficulties. Poorly constructed buildings, old machinery and homemade tools, for example, can all hide serious hazards that increase the likelihood that accidents or damage/loss can arise.
A Risk Management PowerPoint (or ppt) led workshop can help many people to better appreciate the whole subject or risk and how to better manage or mitigate it in some way (and to practice these risk assessment and management skills in the safe climate of a training room). In this case, this Risk management PPT is also fully scripted with trainer notes, allowing full explanations of points to be given by a workshop leader or facilitator (whether or not they are a professional trainer) and even includes a range of discussion exercises and paired or group activities to allow participants to practice specific skills as they are described or shared.
